clear aligners

How are custom clear aligners created?

Before any aligners can be created, digital impressions of the teeth must be taken so that each aligner fits perfectly. If you have had braces before, you may remember the goopy putty impressions that orthodontists often used. Our modern practice uses an iTero scanner to quickly capture thousands of images of the teeth to create highly accurate digital models. We then create a custom treatment plan, offer an educated estimate for how long treatment will take, and create your first set of custom aligners.

benefits of invisalign

What are the benefits of Invisalign?

Clear aligner therapy is a great choice for patients who want to straighten their teeth using aligners that are virtually invisible on the teeth. Invisalign uses a patented plastic material that is discreet and comfortable to wear for many hours at a time. Clear aligners are also completely removable, which means that there are no food or activity restrictions that patients have to keep in mind. Invisalign doesn’t require as many appointments as metal braces, appointments are brief and easy, and there aren’t any metal wires that have to be tightened or adjusted.

invisalign process

What is the Invisalign process?

Patients are required to wear their clear aligners for at least 20 to 22 hours per day, or any time they are not eating, drinking, or brushing their teeth to keep their treatment plan on track. Patients should also be sure to remove their aligners and brush them every day to keep them clear and clean. Aligners are switched out every two weeks, and our F.A.S.T. system only requires patients to schedule in-person appointments every 12 weeks to have their progress examined and to pick up their next set of aligners.

Trinity Orthodontics has great success using Invisalign to treat early-phase cases in young kids, eliminating the need for bulky appliances. Even difficult adult and kids’ cases, traditionally only treated using braces, are being treated with Invisalign and producing amazing results.
