How Are Custom Clear Aligners Created?

Before any aligners can be created, digital impressions of the teeth must be taken so that each aligner fits perfectly. Thanks to modern advances in technology, goopy putty impressions are a thing of the past. Our iTero scanner takes thousands of images of the teeth from which very accurate digital models are made. From this information, a customized treatment plan is developed that provides us with the expected treatment time, and sets of custom aligners can then be designed based on your straightening needs.

The Benefits Of Invisalign

Clear aligner therapy is a great choice for patients who want to straighten their teeth using aligners that are hardly visible on the teeth. Invisalign uses a patented plastic material that is discreet and comfortable to wear for many hours at a time. Clear aligners are also completely removable, which means that there are no food or activity restrictions that patients have to keep in mind. Less in-office visits are required with Invisalign compared to traditional braces, and the appointment time is shorter as well since there are no wires that need to be adjusted or tightened.

What Is The Invisalign Process?

The first step in the Invisalign process is a consultation with our team. During this visit, we’ll discuss things such as expected treatment time and your individual straightening needs, as well as answer any questions you may have. If Invisalign is decided as the best choice for you, digital impressions will be taken and treatment planning can begin including the design of your custom clear aligners.

While using Invisalign, aligners are to be worn for a minimum of 20 to 22 hours each day. It’s best to consistently wear these aligners when you are not eating, flossing, or brushing your teeth in order to keep your alignment treatment on the right track. Patients should also be sure to remove their aligners and brush them every day to keep them clear and clean. Aligners are switched out every two weeks, and our F.A.S.T. system only requires patients to schedule in-person appointments every 12 weeks to have their progress examined and to pick up their next series of aligners.

At Trinity Orthodontics, we’ve had great success using Invisalign to treat early-phase cases in young kids, eliminating the need for bulky appliances. Even difficult adult and kids’ cases, traditionally only treated using braces, are being treated with Invisalign and producing amazing results.

Invisalign for Kids

About Invisalign First

Invisalign is a set of transparent, removable aligners that are created using 3D imaging technology to map out your teeth’s precise motions. Each pair of aligners in the treatment plan will gradually shift your teeth into place until they have reached their final position. Phase 1 treatment, also known as Invisalign First, involves the use of an orthodontic appliance to guide the growth of a patient’s jaw and support the emerging adult teeth. Phase 1 is part of a two-phase treatment plan for children and young adults who may benefit from a more complex orthodontic treatment plan for optimal jaw and teeth alignment.

As a Diamond Plus Invisalign provider in Colorado, we at Trinity Orthodontics are proud to be in the top 10 percent of Invisalign providers in the country. Get in touch with us right away to set up a complimentary consultation if you’re considering Invisalign for your child.

Is My Child A Candidate For Invisalign?

The best way to find out if your child could benefit from Invisalign in Colorado is to set up a complimentary consultation with Dr. Nelson, our board-certified orthodontist. The appointment will include a review of your child’s dental history, x-rays, and oral hygiene practices. Invisalign involves an elevated level of personal responsibility on the part of your child because they are removable. Therefore, it’s crucial to think about their hygiene routine. Your child should wear their aligners for at least 22 hours each day, wash them after each use, and practice good dental hygiene habits, including brushing, flossing, and seeing a dentist regularly.

In general, you may look for the following indicators to determine if your child would be a good fit:

    • Their adult teeth have started to erupt.
    • They have minor to moderate misalignment (overbite, underbite, crowding, etc.).
    • They consistently practice good dental hygiene.
    • A majority of their baby teeth have fallen out.

If Dr. Nelson decides that Invisalign is the best orthodontic solution for your child, we will collaborate with you to create a treatment plan tailored to your child.

Invisalign for Teens

The Difference Between Invisalign For Teens & Adults

Teen Invisalign differs from Invisalign for adults in that it includes compliance indicators—tiny blue dots that fade over time to signal how many hours per day the aligners were worn. This can be helpful for parents in getting their children to consistently wear their aligners. Due to a higher compliance rate among adults, a compliance indicator is not required during orthodontic treatment.

Furthermore, teens can obtain replacement aligners that are just available to them. This is because their social, academic, athletic, and extracurricular schedules are already somewhat full. The spare set is there in case any of the original aligners is broken or lost. Some replacements are available for adults, although they tend to be more expensive than the ones offered through Invisalign Teen.

Aside from these modifications meant to help teens stick to their treatment schedule, Invisalign is the same effective, appealing, and discreet orthodontic treatment for both teens and adults.

Why Choose Invisalign Teen?

We realize that teens want to look and feel their best, which is why we provide Invisalign for teens in Colorado. When compared to traditional metal braces, teens choose Invisalign because it is a more discrete and comfortable alternative for straightening teeth. In addition, because Invisalign aligners are almost invisible, adolescents are less likely to feel self-conscious about undergoing treatment.

Not only are Invisalign aligners less noticeable than metal braces, but they are also removable, making it easier for teenagers to enjoy their favorite foods without worrying about damaging their orthodontic appliances. This also means that teens won’t have to worry about food getting trapped in their aligners or having difficulty cleaning and flossing their teeth.

Invisalign for Adults

How Do I Know If Invisalign Is Right For Me?

If you desire a more attractive and confident smile, then Invisalign is the ideal choice for you. If your teeth are otherwise healthy, Invisalign may be a great option. If you have more significant oral health problems, such as malocclusions or overcrowding, the best way to find out if Invisalign will work for you is to schedule a complimentary consultation with Dr. Nelson here at Trinity Orthodontics.

Using our advanced 3D scanning technology, we’ll examine and assess your teeth. If we decide that Invisalign in Colorado is the best option, we’ll work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan that will get you smiling again in no time. We’ll use 3D images to develop and manufacture aligners that will fit your mouth perfectly, making your treatment as comfortable as possible.

The next step is to wear your Invisalign a minimum of 20 and 22 hours a day and care for them by taking them out to eat, drink, or clean their teeth. With only a few visits to Dr. Nelson for adjustments before moving on to the next set of aligners, your treatment will be over in no time. If this sounds appealing, please contact our team to set up a complimentary consultation for Invisalign for adults in Colorado.

Benefits of Invisalign

While an aesthetically pleasing smile is certainly a huge benefit, Invisalign provides plenty of other benefits, making it an excellent option for adults.

Discreet

Invisalign’s discreet nature is a major selling point. With the transparent aligners, no one will be able to tell that you’re undergoing orthodontic treatment. This is a huge selling point for patients who feel self-conscious about undergoing treatment.

Comfortable

Invisalign utilizes plastic aligners instead of metal brackets and wires to straighten your teeth, so it’s easier on your mouth and gums.

Easy Maintenance

Keeping up with regular dental care and taking care of your teeth is essential throughout this time, which requires some adjusting with braces. But with Invisalign, patients can take the aligners out and care for their teeth as usual.

Less Time Spent on Treatment

Invisalign also saves time compared to conventional braces, which is a major benefit for many people. Depending on the intricacy of the situation, most adult patients can anticipate completing treatment in six to twelve months.

If you are an adult seeking a more discreet and pleasant alternative to traditional braces, Invisalign may be the answer. Trinity Orthodontics offers Invisalign for adults in Colorado. Contact us right now to request a complimentary Invisalign consultation.
